Birthday Celebration!

On June 1, 2011 the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center opened its doors to the public. Six years later, we have welcomed more than 457,000 visitors from every state and more than 23 countries!

The Kansas Children’s Discovery Center will be offering special programming all day long on June 1^st to celebrate its birthday. At 11:00 am, visitors will fish for prizes. At noon, make butterflies in our new butterfly arbor! Children will paint on ice at 1:00 pm and at 3:00 pm, visitors will be catapulting cupcakes outside (weather permitting)!

We are celebrating our 6th birthday with 6 gifts on June 1st for our visitors!

1. Head to the beach in our own backyard! Our new temporary exhibit, Discovery Beach, has tons (45 to be exact) of sand to play in!

2. Take a stroll through our new Butterfly Arbor, sponsored by Schendel Pest Control!

3. Need a break? Try out our Butterfly Benches, sponsored by Schendel Pest Control, that have been installed in our butterfly garden. They also make a wonderful photo opportunity!

4. Spin like a top in our new SPUN Chair, out on the exhibit floor for ALL to enjoy!

5. Wander across our fabulously fun Floor Tiles and see how they change with your footsteps!

6. Practice your coding skills with our eight new "Code and Go Robot Mouse Activity Sets"!
