Engineer an Elephant Trunk: Kenya's Kids @ Kansas Children's Discovery Center

An elephant’s trunk is an amazing appendage! It’s used to breathe, communicate, and even lift objects. Engineer an elephant trunk out of recycled materials, then explore a recreated elephant orphanage in the Kenya’s Kids exhibit on Friday, December 6 at 10:30 and 1:30 at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center.

This program is offered as part of Kenya’s Kids, a new cultural exhibit where families can discover what life is like for children in Kenya today, a country both technologically-advanced and filled with longtime traditions. Kenya’s Kids magically transports visitors into the lives of children living in Kenya, bringing the experience to life to encourage children to not just learn about, but also participate in a new culture as they travel through five immersive environments. Kenya’s Kids is open at the Discovery Center from September 13, 2019 to January 4, 2020.

Regular admission applies. Admission also lets you play all day at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center with over 15,000 square feet of indoor exhibits exploring science, careers, art, building and more, special space for babies and toddlers, and a 4.5-acre certified Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom.
