Free Night Library Storytime: If You Give a Mouse a Cookie @ Kansas Children's Discovery Center

Join our friends at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library for a special storytime on Thursday, November 17 at 6 p.m. We’ll be reading the book If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff as part of Storyland: A Trip Through Childhood Favorites, a special exhibit at the Discovery Center through January 2, 2023.

Storyland immerses children and adults in favorite picture books. In the Give a Mouse a Cookie section of Storyland, get a mouse-eye view of super-sized elements when this book come to life, like a big glass of milk that encourages children to create new and rhyming words by matching letter magnets to word trunks. Kids can even sit next to Mouse on a gigantic replica of the book’s Super Beauty Powder box and more.

Since this event takes place on free night, there is no admission to attend. Free Family Fun Nights are on the third Thursday of every month from 5 to 8 p.m. Join us to play in over 15,000 square feet of indoor educational exhibits exploring science, careers, art, building and more, a 4.5 acre certified Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom and special space for babies and toddlers to explore. Check out https://kansasdiscovery.org/freenights for a full schedule of free nights.
