Kenya's Kids Last Day: World of Drum @ Kansas Children's Discovery Center

Kids learn about rhythm, sound and vibration when they use a percussion instrument! Join us for a fun hands-on workshop exploring rhythm and rhythm instruments at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center on Saturday, January 4 at 11:30 and 1:30. Musician Jaisson H. Taylor from KC Young Audiences will introduce visitors to a variety of idiophones and membranophones from around the world and let children play them!

This is also the final day to see Kenya’s Kids, a cultural exhibit where families can discover what life is like for children in Kenya today, a country both technologically-advanced and filled with longtime traditions. Kenya’s Kids magically transports visitors into the lives of children living in Kenya, bringing the experience to life to encourage children to not just learn about, but also participate in a new culture as they travel through five immersive environments. Kenya’s Kids closes January 4, 2020.

Regular admission applies, which is $9 for children and adults, $8 for seniors, and free for infants under 12 months and Discovery Center members. Admission also lets you play all day at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center with over 15,000 square feet of indoor educational exhibits exploring science, careers, art, building and more, a 4.5 acre certified Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom and special space for babies and toddlers to explore.
