Join us for National Honeybee Day on Saturday, August 21 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center for a whole day of honeybee fun! Celebrate the Kansas state insect with honey slime, prairie tours, pretend bee launches and more!

This program is offered as part of Discover Bees, a new exhibit where families can step into the world of bees! Explore a hollow tree bee habitat, operate a honey stand, pollinate flowers, run an entomology lab and get all the buzz about the critical role of pollinators in the Kansas environment and economy. Explore real pollinator habitats outdoors in the Discovery Center’s tallgrass prairie, monarch waystation, and pollinator garden. This special exhibit created by the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center will be open July 9 to September 5, 2021.

Regular admission applies, which is $9 for children and adults, $8 for seniors, and free for infants under 12 months and Discovery Center members. Admission also lets you play all day at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center with over 15,000 square feet of indoor educational exhibits exploring science, careers, art, building and more, plus a 4.5 acre certified Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom.  Check out https://kansasdiscovery.org/events for more serious fun!
