Being a first-time parent with a baby can be both wonderful and incredibly stressful, sometimes in the course of the same night! Get tips on caring for yourself as a new parent with licensed psychologist Susan Voorhees PsyD. Check in on how you’re doing, your energy level, and taking time to yourself. Come with your baby and visit with other parents to develop strategies for managing the many demands of parenting. This workshop is offered on Monday, January 6 from 10 to 11 a.m. and Wednesday, January 22 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
This workshop is offered as a part of Discovery Baby, a free, fun program that introduces babies and their caregivers to a world of learning and play. Parents who attend can meet other parents with babies and talk with professionals in a fun, casual setting at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center. Discovery Baby programs are open to first-time parents with a baby under 12 months old. Workshops are free and advance registration is not required.
