One winter morning, Peter woke up to a magical world full of snow and began a day of adventure! Bring your curious explorers to the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center December 7 – 16. On Wednesday and Friday at 10 a.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m. we’ll be celebrating the book The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats as part of Storyland: A Trip Through Childhood Favorites, a special exhibit at the Discovery Center through January 2, 2023.
Storyland immerses children and adults in favorite picture books. In the Snowy Day section of Storyland, children enter to Peter’s wintry world where a young boy explores his neighborhood after a fresh snowfall. Have the opportunity to build print and sound awareness as you build a snowperson, and explore wintry sounds and words. Follow Peter’s footprints through the urban snowscape, manipulate icicles, bells, and chimes; build snow people, and more.
Regular admission applies. Admission also lets you play all day at the Discovery Center with over 15,000 square feet of indoor educational exhibits exploring science, careers, art, building and more, a 4.5 acre certified Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom and special space for babies and toddlers to explore.
