Your Baby’s Brain: a Discovery Baby workshop @ Kansas Children's Discovery Center

Babies begin using their brains at birth. Learn how you can support your baby’s brain development, and how everyday experiences provide important connections for your baby’s brain growth with Danielle Twemlow, from the USD 501 Parents as Teachers program. Staff from the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library will also be on-site to sign up families for Baby Bookworms and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. This session shares information from the program “Better Brains for Babies.” This workshop is offered on Monday, May 4 from 10 to 11 a.m. and Wednesday, May 20 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

This workshop is offered as a part of Discovery Baby, a free, fun program that introduces babies and their caregivers to a world of learning and play. Parents who attend can meet other parents with babies and talk with professionals in a fun, casual setting at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center. Discovery Baby programs are open to first-time parents with a baby under 12 months old. Workshops are free and advance registration is not required. Parents who attend four or more workshops will receive a free 12 month Discovery Center membership. Learn more at www.kansasdiscovery.org/baby.
