Celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center on Monday, January 21. The museum will be open from 9 to 5. Martin Luther King Jr. dreamed that one day his community and country would be free of racial injustice. learn about Dr. King’s dream and write your own dream for your family, community, and country on our dream clouds. Put your cloud on our wall to help create a Dr. King museum display and watch your dreams soar! Listen to Dr. King’s iconic I Have a Dream speech while you work.

Regular admission applies, which is $7.75 for kids and adults, $6.75 for seniors, and free for infants under 12 months and KCDC members. Admission also lets you play all day at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center with over 15,000 square feet of indoor exhibits exploring science, careers, art, building and more, plus a 4.5 acre certified Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom.

Assist a veterinarian! Put on your scrubs and bring in your pretend furry friend for a checkup to the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center on Saturday, February 9 for Veterinarian Play Day sponsored by Hill’s Pet Nutrition! A real veterinarian will be onsite ready to help take care of our stuffed furry friends from 11 to 3. Ask questions and learn all about being a veterinarian.

Regular admission applies, which is $7.75 for children and adults, $6.75 for seniors, and free for infants under 12 months and KCDC members. Admission also lets you play all day at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center with over 15,000 square feet of indoor exhibits exploring science, careers, art, building and more, plus a 4.5 acre certified Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom.

STEAMing: Scout Day

STEAMing: Scout Day @ Kansas Children's Discovery Center

It’s Scout Day at The Kansas Children’s Discovery Center on Saturday, February 23 from 10 to 5. Scouts in uniform will receive $1 off admission. Meet our friends from the Topeka Gem and Mineral Society, who will be onsite with rocks, minerals, gems and fossils to explore and knowledge to share. At 10:30 and 1:30, learn to code real robots Dash and Sphero SPRK. These fun, engaging robots can learn to drive, deliver messages and launch ping pong balls with the help of child programmers.

Join us for a day that really rocks on Saturday, February 23 from 10 to 5. Our friends from the Topeka Gem and Mineral Society will be onsite with rocks, minerals, gems and fossils to explore and knowledge to share. Learn from our local experts and come away with a solid understanding of local stones!

February 23 is also Scout Day at The Kansas Children’s Discovery Center. Scouts in uniform will receive $1 off admission. At 10:30 and 1:30, learn to code real robots Dash and Sphero SPRK.
