Start your family adventure in the Sunflower State at Camp Kansas, a summer fun exhibit at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center from June 9 to August 27, 2023. Families can set up a pretend camp in our indoor campground, become a park ranger, go fishing, build constellations, research songbirds, and learn about Kansas’ most iconic outdoor spaces. Build lasting memories and find inspiration for your own Kansas adventure in Camp Kansas! Camp Kansas is generously sponsored by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks.
Join us for the grand opening of this locally constructed exhibit on Friday, June 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Regular admission applies, which is $9 for children and adults, $8 for seniors and free for infants under 12 months and Discovery Center members. Admission also lets you play all day at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center, with more than 15,000 square feet of indoor educational exhibits exploring science, careers, art, building and more, plus a 4.5-acre certified Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom. The exhibit will also be open during monthly free nights on June 15, July 20, and August 17.

The Discovery Kindergarten Fair is a communitywide celebration of all things kindergarten!
The Discovery Center opens with free admission and dozens of community partners on hand to offer activities, learning resources, health screenings and more!
A real school bus helps kids prepare for bus-riding, and the full museum is open for play.

Sensory-Friendly Sundays are on the second Sunday of every month from 10 a.m. to noon. On Sensory-Friendly Sunday, the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center offers free admission to families who have children with autism or have children who benefit from a sensory-friendly environment. Children play in a safe and understanding environment where the lights and sounds are kept low, and fun activities are designed just for them.
The Sensory-Friendly Sunday program provides opportunities to enjoy family time at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center in a safe and understanding environment. These events allow caregivers to network with one another, and connect to resources. The museum is not open to the public during this time. Reservations are not required.
