Please join us to celebrate the unveiling of our Native American Basket Weaving Installation and our Old Joshua statue installation in our Native Prairie Grass and Wildflower Habitat!
The Native American Basket Weaving Installation was created and led by Cherokee Nation artist Lisa LaRue-Baker. Old Joshua is a statue that commemorates a bison once housed in our present-day Native Prairie Grass and Wildflower Habitat. We will also host a speaker from the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation's Buffalo Management Program, and performances from the Royal Valley Native American Singers/Dancers, led by Anita Evans.
These installations are sponsored in part by the State of Kansas through the Kansas Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts.
