MarÃa the Mexican Acoustic Performance in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month
In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, join the Kansas Children's Discovery Center on Saturday, October 10 at 3 p.m. for a special acoustic performance from María the Mexican! Lead vocalist and guitarist María Cuevas, with sister Tess and collaborator Garrett Nordstrom, honor their grandmother Maria Teresa Alonzo Cuevas—a pioneer who founded one of the first all-female Mariachi bands in the United States.
Regular admission applies, which is $11 for children and adults, $10 for seniors, and free for infants under 12 months and Discovery Center members. Admission also lets you play all day at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center with over 30,000 square feet of indoor educational exhibits exploring science, careers, art, building and more, plus a 4.5 acre certified Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom.
