Honor Rosa Parks Day on Tuesday, February 4 at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center. Rosa Parks was a civil rights activist who refused to move from her seat on a segregated bus on December 1, 1955. Her actions helped established equal and fair treatment for African Americans across the country.

At 10 a.m., please join us for a performance from International Academy of Bright Stars Student Choir. Immediately following, join us for a story time from Liana Murphy, Topeka's Miss Juneteenth 2024, and an art making project with Aisha Imani Sanaa!

Regular admission applies, which is $9 for children and adults, $8 for seniors, and free for infants under 12 months and Discovery Center members. Museums for All admission for families receiving WIC or EBT is $3 for children and adults up to four people. Admission also lets you play all day at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center with over 15,000 square feet of indoor educational exhibits exploring science, careers, art, building and more, plus a 4.5 acre certified Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom and special space for babies and toddlers to explore.
