Supplies:

• Water
• Baking soda
• Paper
• Rubbing alcohol
• Tumeric
• Cotton swabs
• Paint brush
• Glass or metal bowls

Directions:

1. Add 1 tablespoon of baking soda to 1/2 cup of warm water and stir gently until the baking soda is dissolved.
2.  Using a cotton swab dipped into the baking soda and water solution, write your secret message on the paper. The message may be slightly visible when wet, but will be invisible when dry! Wait for your message to dry completely. Use a hairdryer to dry the paper if you’d like to move things along.
3. Mix 1 teaspoon of turmeric in 1/2 cup rubbing alcohol in your glass or metal bowl. Stir gently until turmeric is dissolved. Be careful with your turmeric solution! It will stain upholstery, clothing, skin and plastic dishes.
4. Using a wide paintbrush, gently paint your turmeric solution over the paper and see your hidden message change colors!
