Maker Space Spring Break!

It’s Maker Space Spring Break at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center! Join us from Monday, March 11 to Saturday, March 16 for daily maker space activities. Discover pop-up surprises all week including food trucks, sensory play, and dance parties! Also check out the nationally traveling XOXO: An Exhibit About Love & Forgiveness to explore feelings through facial expressions, words, movement, art, and other hands-on activities.

Regular admission applies, which is $9 for children and adults, $8 for seniors, and free for infants under 12 months and Discovery Center members. Community Art Design Youth Input Session with Aisha Imani Sanaa and Vivian Bluett

Visual artists Aisha Imani Sanaa and Vivian Bluett are designing an art image that highlights unity, community, change, and a better future for children and families. This image will be transformed into an interactive wall-sized puzzle as part of our summer exhibit honoring the 70th Anniversary Brown vs. Board of Education.

Stop by the artists’ design ideation station at the Discovery Center on Thursday, March 7th from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tell the artists what future you dream of and want to live in. Share your thoughts about equity and unity in our community! The artists want the installation design to reflect the thoughts, hopes and ideas of local youth.

Tallest Tower: Engineers Week at the Discovery Center

Work and play with real engineers from Bartlett & West at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center on Saturday, February, 24. The engineers will guide small scientists in a tallest tower compention from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The sky’s the limit as you compete against others to build the tallest skyscraper from wooden KEVA Planks. Can you break the Discovery Center record of 11.25 feet? This program is part of National Engineers Week at the Discovery Center! It’s a week that’s sure to spark little minds and gear them up for learning and fun.

Sweetheart Slime
