10 - Wee Wednesday: Super Sensory Fun 10:30 am
Description: Join us for Sensory Fun with Super Smells!

January 12 – 14: Snowmazing Days! SNOW much fun!

12 – Exploring Ice 11 am and 1 pm
Description: Join us as we explore the properties of ice, water and salt. Visitors will enjoy ways to melt the ice and “free’ the penguins who are trapped in blocks of ice!

13 – Shivering Fun Snow Day! 11 am, 1 and 3 pm
Description: 11 am: Create a colorful masterpiece by painting with ice! 1:00 pm: Make animal tracks in “snow” dough 3 pm: You've made snowballs and maybe snow cones, but have you ever made your own snow? You can do it today at the Discovery Center!

14 - Puzzle Pieces 11 am - 1 pm
Description: On the second Sunday of each month from 11 am - 1 pm, the Kansas Children's Discovery Center offers FREE admission to families with children who have Autism Spectrum Disorders. The Puzzle Pieces program provides opportunities to enjoy family time at the Discovery Center in a safe, understanding environment, allows parents to network with one another, and will help families discover new resources available to them. *Not open to the public during this time. NOTE: Puzzle Pieces will include Snow Dough and sensory snow this month!

14 – Snowball Fun! 2 pm and 4 pm
Description: 2 pm Paint with Ice! 4 pm You've made snowballs and maybe snow cones, but have you ever made your own snow? You can do it today at the Discovery Center!

15 - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day: We are open from 9 am – 5 pm!
Description: To celebrate our community and teamwork, KCDC will have games for everyone to join in and play together! The parachute takes teamwork and will be out at 10:30am and 1:30pm. We will have team Robot Coding challenges at 11:30am and 2:30pm. Don't forget to stop by the art table to share your dream with us before you leave!

17 - Wee Wednesday - Jurassic Playdough- 10:30 am
Description: Dinos and playdough what could be more fun?!

20 – STEAM Saturday – Stomp Rockets: 10:30 am, 1 pm and 3 pm
Description: Start the countdown, jump, and... BLAST OFF! The force of your body will send your paper stomp rocket into the air!

23 - Toddler Tuesday: Kansas Ballet at 10:30 am
Description: Join in and move as the Kansas Ballet Academy leads an interactive movement activity at the Kansas Children's Discovery Center!

23 – Native Voices: Story Time at 1 pm
Description: Celebrate our Native Voices exhibit through a special storytime at 1:00 pm. Book: Jingle Dancer by Cynthia Leitich Smith

24 - Wee Wednesday – Gravity, Ramps, and Hills! - 10:30 am
Description: Let's test out how things move! Gravity, Ramps and Hills!

24 – Native Voices Clam Dig at 1 pm
Description: Native tribes in the Northeast celebrate summer by gathering together to dig for clams for a clam bake. Join us for a pretend clam dig in our Native Voices exhibit.

25 – Native Voices Canoe Engineering at 1 pm
Description: Make your own mini-canoe using recycled materials. Test to see if your canoe will float!

26 – Native Voices Clay Pottery at 10:30 am and 1 pm
Description: Native tribes created their own pottery for daily use. Create your very own masterpiece to take home while learning about native pottery.

27 – STEAM Floor Program: Bison Box with Flint Hills Discovery Center from 11 am – 3 pm
Description: Educators from the Flint Hills Discovery Center will be onsite to share how Indigenous peoples used all parts of a bison for food, tools and shelter to avoid waste. Examples tools will be available for families to explore from 11am - 3pm.

30 – Toddler Tuesday: Kansas Ballet at 10:30 am
Description: The Kansas Ballet Academy will be here to lead an interactive movement activity at the Kansas Children's Discovery Center!

31 – Wee Wednesday: Baby Washing at 10:30
Description: Learn to nurture by practicing to be gentle while washing baby dolls.
